Solution :-

Divided Rule of 4:-

If the given Number Last two digit number is divided by 4 , then the number is divided.

There four :-

56 is divided by 4 , number 535156 is divided.

So: - = 536156 Ans

Question 6. 23X591 is divided by 11, Then find the value of X.

a) 2 b) 4

c) 3 d) 5

Solution :-

Divided rule of 11 :-

If a given number even and add place digit difference is 0 or divided by 11 , Then the number is divided by 11.

There four :-

given number odd digit sum

2+X+9 =11+X..........(I)

Given number even digit sum

3+5+1 = 9....................(II)

From I and II

11+X = 9

X = 2 Ans

Solution :-

[{(-1/2)²}^(-2)]^(-1)

= [{1/4}^(-2)]^(-1)

= [{4}²]^(-1)

= [16]^(-1)

= [1/16] Ans

Question 2. Find the value of (-2)^{(-2)^(-2)}

a) 8 b) (-1)

c) 16 d) 0

Solution :-

(-1/2)^{2^(-2)}

= (1/4)^{^(-2)}

= (4)^⁽²⁾

= 16 Ans

Question 1. The product of two number is 64 and their sum in 20. If the first number

is greater than the second, then find the ratio of both the number.

NTPC CBT-1

a) 16:5 b) 4:1

c) 1:4 d) 5:16

Solution:- Type I.

Given : xy =64

x+y = 20 and x>y

We know that :-

(x +y )² = x² + y² + 2xy

(20)² = x ²+y ² +2 * 64

400 = x ²+y ² + 128

400 - 128 = x ²+y ²

272 = x ²+y ² ^{................(I)}

Again we Know that :-

(x -y )² = x²+ y² - 2xy

= 272 - 128

= 144

(x - y ) = 12

(x + y) = 20

...............................................

2x = 32

x = 16 & y = 4

x : y = 4 : 1 Ans

Trick:-

(x - y)² = (x + y)² - 4xy

= 400 - 4 * 64

= 400 - 256

= 144

(x - y) = 12

(x + y ) = 20

.........................................

2x = 32

x = 16 and y = 4

Question 2.If 5A-2B=0 and 4B - 5C =0, then find the value of C:A .

a) 6:4 b) 2:1

solution : -

5A = 2B and 4B = 5C

A/B = 2/5 and B/C = 5/4

SO : A : B = 2 : 5

B : C = 5 : 4

A : B : C = 10 : 25 : 20

A : B : C = 2 : 5 : 4

There four : A : C = 2 : 4

A : C = 1 : 2

C : A = 2 : 1 Ans

Question 3. If A - 2B = 0 and 4B - C = 0, then find the value of C: B : A .

a) 1 : 2 : 4 b) 4 : 1 : 2

c) 2 : 1 :4 d) 2 : 4 : 1

Solution :-

A - 2B = 0 and 4B - C = 0

A/B = 2/1 and B/C = 1/4

SO : A : B = 2 : 1 and

B : C = 1 : 4

A : B : C = 2 : 1 : 4

There four : C : B : A = 4 : 1 : 2 Ans

Question 4. If 5A - B= 12 and B - 3C = 10 and A - C = 2, then find the value of C:A .

a) 3 : 4 b) 9 : 20

c) 4 : 3 d) 20 : 9

Solution :-

Given : -

5A - B = 12

B - 3C = 10

............................................

5A - 3C = 22 .............................(I)

A - C = 2 Multiply 3 in the both side

5A - 3C = 22 from equation (I)

3A - 3C = 6

..........................................

2A = 16

So : A = 8 And C = 6 and B = 4

There four C : A = 6 : 8

C : A = 3 : 4 Ans

2. Square

Question :- If (X+Y) = 4 And XY = 6 Then find the value of X ²+ Y² = ?

Solution:- We know that :-

(X+Y) = X ²+ Y²+ 2XY

SO That (X+Y)² = 4*4

X ²+ Y²+ 2XY = 16

X ²+ Y² = 16- (2*6)

X ²+ Y² = 16 - 12.

X ²+ Y²= 4 Ans
